The Second Wind UV-Clean Breeze is the perfect choice for all residential air handler applications. Second Wind uses ultraviolet germicidal light and a patented photo-catalytic process to disinfect mold, bacteria, infectious disease, and decrease odors in the air handler. The UV-Clean Breeze mounts directly in the air handler, with its plenum rated remote lamp cord and easy mount lamp bracket. The lamp comes shielded with a factory sealed water resistant electrical lamp connection. Lamp replacement is easy with a quick disconnect lamp cord. Lamp operation is monitored by an air handler sight glass which is included. Second Wind Air Purifiers use ultraviolet germicidal light and photo-catalytic oxidation to remove mold, bacteria, viruses, odors and off gases in your home. Second Wind units are an addition to your existing heating and air conditioning system, giving you whole house air purification. Second Wind units produce the perfect wavelength of light (254 nm) to disinfect air borne micro-organisms. Ultraviolet light has been used since the 1930’s in many applications: water treatment, hospitals, laboratories, aquariums, meat packing plants, etc. to control air borne micro-organisms. Second Wind units use a process called photo-catalytic oxidation to remove odors and off-gases. When the high intensity ultraviolet light shines on a specific catalyst a reaction takes place producing what are called hydroxyl radicals. These radicals aid in the removal of the odors and gas phase contaminates by changing their molecular configuration.

Contractors charge from $500.00 to $800.00 to install this same unit in your home. We do recommend professional installtion, but if you're a handy person the instructions are included. This UV light is controlled by low voltage (24 volts) and your system will most likely require an additional transformer to complete the installation.
