Mitutoyo borematic hole gage set, five heads, 3 rings

What is for sale: Mitutoyo borematic hole gage set, five heads, 3 rings

o Borematic readout probe with Preset, in/mm, ON/OFF, Zero/Abs, Hold, and Data buttons (two each of the latter two (Hold/Data) buttons)
o Three setting rings for the above heads, 1.00000", 1.19980", and 1.60000", internal diameters, all in plastic cases
o 6" extension tube for measurement of deeper holes
o Three setting spanner wrenches for head changes or extension tube attachment
o Additional dual range 2.8" - 3.2" and 3.2" - 3.6" head, with contact points for the lower range
o Additional dual range 3.6" - 4.0" and 4.0" - 4.4" head, with contact points for the lower range
The last two larger dual range heads were add-ons to the set bought separately after purchase. Their contact points pull out easily with just a finger pull and can be interchanged. Contact points for the higher ranges of the two heads should be available from your friendly Mitutoyo distributor, but I have not verified this. Setting rings for the two larger heads have gone missing, but SPI brand rings are available from MSC (and surely others) for a reasonable price, or if you have a toolpost grinder, you could make your own.
This is a fairly well-known item, and, with minor modifications, has been around for quite a while. Once the probe is set to a ring, using the Preset function explained in the manual, the unit can then measure absolute hole sizes within the range of the head, or it can measure the delta (over or under) of holes in the range, this being more of an inspection function. Pins at the ends of all contact points allow internal measurements right to the bottom of blind holes. The face of the readout can be rotated 330 degrees for easier reading, and the Hold button freezes the reading and allows the head to be removed from the hole and the dimension read at a more convenient angle. There is a SPC data readout, but the cable is not provided. I have put new batteries in the probe. The set is only slightly used, and is in like-new condition.
Per the MSC and Mitutoyo catalogs, Mitutoyo has evidently changed their set structure, now selling sets with three heads, but only two setting rings. One of the rings then must do double duty as a min/max setter for two of the heads. Three rings, as in this set, makes it easier!
