Pack of 5 Ultra-Bright TRI-COLOUR RED/GREEN/BLUE 5mm LEDs, with water clear lens.
These are effectively 3 ultra-bright LEDs housed in a single water-clear lens. Perfect for all manner of display purposes. With multiple LEDs on at the same time it is possible to give the appearance of a wide range of colours, simply by varying the current to each colour.
These are full spec, new items, not to be confused with the class 2 product available very cheaply direct from some sellers in the Far East.
The basic specs for these LEDs are as follows:
A question we get asked all the time is "how do I connect these LEDs to a higher voltage, such as 5V or 12V?"
To do this you need to connect a resistor in series with the LED. Common values are as follows:
To use a common resistor for the 3 LEDs, just use the value for the red, the slight reduction in brightness this will give for the green & blue will not be that noticeable.
