This manual covers operation, maintenance, servicing, calibration, checkout and etceteras of the Tektronix 453A Oscilloscope. It is scanned from the original manufacturer's manual, part #070-1089-00. The scans came out well, and all information available in the original manual is available here.
Two PDFs of the manual are provided, in two resolutions. One is:
Text with Drawings at 400dpi (minimum) black and white or grayscale (content-dependent)
Schematics at 600dpi black and white or grayscale (content-dependent)
Text with photos at 400dpi (minimum) grayscale with contrast adjusted
Schematics, overlays with color coding (if any) at 400dpi (minimum) 256 colors (minimum)
The "bench res" PDF is done in resolutions that vary depending on individual page content, but are never higher than needed to produce a useable quality, quickly navigable file that will do the job without consuming more time and resources than are needed.
Also, we include a "foldouts.pdf" in both resolutions with the A3 (11x17") foldout pages from the manual scanned full-size (one piece). You'll see that each separate PDF on this CD is entirely A3 or entirely A4, so you won't scroll by a 24x11" page to discover that suddenly and annoyingly your 8.5x11" pages are a third of the screen size they were before displaying the wider page. Please note that the foldout pages are ALSO included as A4 scans (sectioned as 8.5 x 11" pages, in other words) in the main manual, for easier printing on most printers.
We send you both both resolutions on the CD. You'll receive the large file, plus the smaller, faster text-searchable version, plus the A3 "foldouts" files. That way, you can navigate, search and etceteras with the fast files and only use the large files when you want to print. There's no need to clutter up your drives with files that are hundreds of megabytes in size, nor any need to spend time writing them to and from the hard drive if you aren't the sort who likes to waste space. Yet the extra-large PDFs are still provided for when you need high print quality. All original manual pages are supplied in both resolutions, with no pages added or subtracted.
The "main" or "very high resolution" manual has both the chapter-page numbering system ("electronic manual page numbers match paper manual page numbers") and the sequential page numbering system. The very high resolution version is fully bookmarked and hyperlinked, for those folk who like that, and of course the smaller, faster version is text-searchable as well as being fully bookmarked, hyperlinked and having the versatility of both page-numbering systems.
