These compact and extremely easy-to-operate rotary coarse vane pumps are designed for continuousoperation over the working pressure range from atmosphere to less than 1 Torr (29.9 in. Hg).
Three Main Components Body, Oil Casing, and the Drive/Cooling System
Body Features a cylindrical housing (stator) containing an eccentrically mounted rotor with three, non-radial sliding vanes
Vanes Divide the pumping chamber into three compartments of variable volume as they slide against the cylinder wall (centrifugal action prevents the vanes from sticking or clogging)
Automatic Outlet Valve Opens against atmospheric pressure to discharge the pumped gases and vapors as each vane passes the outlet port in the body
Gas Ballast Valve When manually opened, it introduces gas from an external source (usually air) into the volume trapped between the vanes, preventing compression of pumped vapors to saturation and leaving the liquid in the oil
Automatic Anti-Suckback Valve Stops oil migrating into the foreline in case the pump is turned off but the inlet not vented
Oil Sealing and Lubrication System Ensures adequate lubrication, even when the pump is operated for long periods with atmospheric pressure at the inlet
Integral demister in the oil casing filters oil aerosols and returns coalesced oil to the fluid sump
Relief valve prevents pressure buildup should the demisting filters become clogged
External spin-on filter (featured on all models except SV16 and SV25) removes particulates before the oil recirculates
Feature internal mounted fans for air-cooling
Larger sizes (SV585, SV630, and SV1200) include cooling radiators
Models SV16 and SV25 have single-phase (115 VAC or 230 VAC) or three-phase (208/230/460 VAC) motors
Models SV40 through SV1200 have three-phase, NEMA T.E.F.C. 208/230/460 VAC 60 Hz motors
