HERE ITS A VERY NICE STARRETT TOOLMAKERS BUTTON
Starrett Toolmakers’ Button are hardened and ground and lapped
to size. The ends are ground square with the sides to assure
perfect alignment with the work.
Each set consists of four buttons of the same diameter which
are fastened to a steel base plate to protect the screws and
washers that are used in clamping them to the work. One button in
each set is 1/8 inch longer than the others to facilitate truing up
when two buttons are used closely together. The longer one is 5/8-
inch long and the other three are 1/2-inch.
The A and C sets of buttons measure .300 and .500 of an inch
respectively. The holes in the buttons are larger than the screws to
permit sidewise adjustment after preliminary fastening to the work
