This sale is for a pair of heavy duty 6" tall wheel casters.
A brass tag on them states the manufacturer as Darnell
of California, Chicago and New York.
The wheels are rubber and are 6" tall and 1 1/2" wide.
The rubber is surprisingly supple and not dried out, the
seam amid the 1 1/2" width is still evident. Someone painted
these red at one time for paint did get on the rubber and the
4 1/2" x 3 1/2" affixed mounting plate that has approximately
four 1/4" bolt holes. The complete caster stands 8" tall
from the wheel on the floor to the top of the mounting plate.
As visible in the image the triangular metal bracket that holds
the wheel is riveted to the mount bracket. The swivel bearings
do turn but need a new grease packing so it does so more freely.
These casters are non-traditional in the sense the axle affixed
to the triangular mount bracket is not where the bearings are,
they are in a groove under the 1 1/2" width of the wheel
rubber. These bearings are in great shape for the wheel
