This is a HAND-MADE Vintage ROPE MAKING MACHINE, from a farm in Nebraska. This is for traditional "Hawser-Laid" rope, we assume from our research. Dimensions are approximately 18" x 16" by 8" across. The top board does have a crack in it (see photo). The wheel turns freely. The person who donated this item has written "instructions" on it.
