Lot 20287 AquaMet Stainless Round
Please note: The scrap value of 300 series stainless
has gone up considerably. The cost of AquaMet 22 new
stock has risen to more than $10 per pound wholesale.
We are selling what we have at a price that reflects old
scrap prices but once this stock is gone, it is gone. Scrap
has gone so high that we can no longer afford to compete
with the scrap yards for this material.
The reason for this increase in cost is the global
price of Nickel, which has gone from $2.50 per
pound to over $24 per pound.
So we would suggest that if you need some stainless for
a project, or a future project, and you find if for less than
a couple of bucks per pound, you need to purchase it now!
AquaMet 22 is a high-alloy stainless steel that provides
superior corrosion resistance along with excellent toughness and
high strength. It has higher strength than AQUAMET 17 in diameters
of 3/4" through 1 1/4", and equivalent strength in diameters up to 2".
Due to its high alloy content, AQUAMET 22 resists pitting
and crevice corrosion greater than any other AquaMet shaft alloy.
