You've seen the TV infomercials about this fantastic ladder system- a Model 17, 300 # rated ladder with a Little Giant Work Platform. The ANSI Duty Rating (American National Standards Institute) rates a 300 # ladder as "Type 1A, Extra Heavy Duty/Professional Use, (300 lb. load capacity.)" It is designed for rugged use in any capacity on commercial or industrial sites.
The Model 17 will extend from 9 to 15 feet, equivalent to a regular "overlapping" type 17 foot extension ladder. Either one would be tall enough to you to reach the peaks of a one story home, but the locking Little Giant Ladder is much, much sturdier and safer, and with its telescoping design and flared legs on both ends, is much more stable!
In the A-Frame position, it will adjust from 4 to 7 feet, giving you the equivalent of 4', 5', 6' and 7' step ladders! And unlike normal step ladders, both sides have usable steps, and each side will safely support 300 lbs! Each side is also independently adjustable, for the perfect ladder to use on eneven surfaces, stairwells, or over shubbery.
The ladder will also separate into two A-Frame sections, to be used as supports for a scaffold plank, with working height of 1' to 4'!
The Model 17 Little Giant ladder will also reduce in size to just 4' 7", making it very easy to store. It has a total weight of 35 lbs. The manufacturer gives a Lifetime Conditional Warranty on this ladder, and it comes with a complete set of directions.
A Work Platform is required as a "spreader" brace when using the Little Giant Ladder System as a scaffold, and one is included in this listing ! Many people order an additional work platform-one to stand on and one to use as a handy shelf for holding your paint can or tools!
