3S Silicon Tech 8015 Automatic Linear Pick & Place

Specifications are from 3S and may vary slightly due to upgrades, options or revisions this unit may or may not have.

The Model 8015 Linear Pick & Place is designed to transfer devices from wafers mounted on filmframes to one of three output options: waffle packs loaded on an X-Y Table, wafer packs loaded in a stack magazine system, or tape & reel.
A wafer magazine is loaded on the Wafer Magazine Handler and a wafer is automatically loaded in the Filmframe Expander.
A computer-controlled optical recognition system locates good devices. These devices are picked by the Linear Pick & Place Arm and placed on the Output Handler, depending on the output option installed, places the device in a waffle pack or Tape & Reel.
Output visual inspection optics are provided to monitor the output operation.
The major systems and assemblies of the Model 8015 Linear Pick & Place are listed below.
Filmframe Magazine Input Handler
Automatically indexes and shuttles Filmframes from a Magazine to the Filmframe Expander
Receives and automatically heats and expands Filmframe. Expander is mounted to an X-Y Table that positions devices under the optics. Returns empty Filmframe to Input Handler.
The Die Ejector pushes the device up from the mylar with a pin array so that it may be picked up by the Pickup Head.
A Linear Assembly with a pickup head that is fitted with a vacuum tip. Transfers devices from Filmframe to Output Handler.
There are two separate optical systems; the first is positioned over the Filmframe and is integrated with the computer-controlled pattern recognition system. The second is under the middle way of Linear Assembly and is for backside inspection only.
Output Configuration 1: Waffle Pack X-Y Table
Empty waffle packs placed on an X-Y Table and are positioned the Linear Assembly to the left.
Output Configuration 2: Waffle Stack Handler
Allows waffle packs to be stacked in a carousel that is mounted to an X-Y Table.
Output Configuration 3: Tape & Reel
A heat-sealed tape & reel packaging system.
