We are Located in North Carolina
1. Check operation of all switches and check tube sockets, clean with Dexoit and tighten as required
2. Check connection tube socket shells to front panel. Correct as needed.
3. Check meter operation for sticking, zero set and full scale sensitivity. Adjust as required.
4. Check all electrolytic capacitors for ESR using an 88A Analyzer
5. Check all bulbs and fuses.
6. Check and adjust operation of short detection circuitry
7. Check the 6BN8 on a Calibrated Hickok tester
8. Check the #83 Rectifier Tube on a calibrated Hickok Tester
9. Check #83 rectifier output symmetry on a calibrated Tektonix scope
10. Check all voltages and bridge resistors, make all service adjustments according to B&K standards (Shorts,Grid Emission, Signal Voltage, DC Bias,balance), using a high accuracy Fluke meter. Check operation of compensating signal voltage circuit over the full line voltage service operating range.
11. Check the unit with a variety of good and bad power and small tubes
12. Lightly clean case and front panel
13. Your unit will operate as accurately as it possibly can.
The calibration cost does not include the cost of any required parts replacement/labor. You will be notified if this is the case. There will be an additional charge if parts need to be replaced. Most times this is not required to get the unit to calibrate, if the unit is in working condition.
For an additional $115, we offer an upgrade package that includes replacement of all electrolytic capacitors with high temperature low ESR units, replacement of selected resistors with tighter tolerance, higher wattage units, install a three wire line cord and replace all missing screws. We also install solid ground bus wiring to ensure tube sockets are propely grounded to the front panel.
